Finally we provide a friendly and knowledgeable guide, so there is no worry about getting lost or getting stuck on a trail that you never wanted to be on in the first place. Our guides will make sure you have all the know-how you need to get out and enjoy the trails. So whether you are looking for a causal day of light riding and sight seeing or a high speed rip through the trees, this mountain bike trip has what you need.

Trip Description

Your adventure starts at the outpost where you will check in and meet your guide. It’s here where your guide will go over the local trail map and get a good idea of what your group is interested in riding. After a quick tutorial on the bike and the gear, your guide will take you on a short peddle on the paved road next to the outpost so you can get comfortable on your bike. Of course your guide will be there to help or answer any questions you may have. After that, it’s a short road ride to the trail head where your guide will show you the miles of amazing trail and vast scenic beauty our area has to offer.

You will start your trail ride on a trail called Brain Worm, where you will wind through the middle of a low land forest and along the beautiful vistas of a local golf course. After that the next trail is Summer School, a gentle single track tour through pine forests and open grasslands. Once you complete those two trails you will follow your guide to our lookout deck where you can grab a water break and take some photos with a beautiful vista of dense northern forests and the Menominee River awaiting in the background.

After you get a rest and take a few photos it is your choice where the trip goes from there. There is the exciting twists and turns of the Rabbit Hunt trail, the high hills and big sweeping turns of Jackalope or the high speed tech and hand cut berms of Racing Stripes. How about all of the above? The adventures are virtually limitless and the choices are up to you. Once you spend some time checking out all the awesome trails on top of the hill, its back to the outlook for the ride down the hill on a trail called Panorama.

At the bottom of the hill you will be back on Piers Gorge Road, less than half a mile from the outpost. If time allows, it is here you have another choice to make. Peddle down the road and check out the awesome class 3 & 4 whitewater of Piers Gorge, ride the meandering, beautiful, river side trail Paper Route or just head back to the outpost and call it time well spent.

Once back at the outpost your guide will take care of the bikes and gear and you will be free to check out the other awesome adventures we offer at True North Outpost or head out to your next adventure. Either way you will leave knowing you not only accomplished a few hours of awesome exercise, but that you also got to experience this beautiful area in a way most people never do.
